We enjoyed a very inspiring afternoon yesterday with Karen Lloyd, one of our own, who led us in a creative writing exercise. The results were amazing and very personal to each member of the group. Karen used a poem by Edward Thomas which was about a moment in his life, just before he set off to War. We then had around 25 to 30 minutes to write something of our own be it a few lines, a story, poem, memory based around the answers we gave to questions Karen had asked us.
One of the participants shared her piece in a beautiful video, which you can watch here. These are attached for anyone who might like to have a go at releasing their inner writer. Thank you so much to Karen for her gentle introduction to something some of us were a little apprehensive about trying but all agreed it had been a most enjoyable and enlightening afternoon.
Next month we will be back outdoors at Wharton Park when as well as chat and coffee we will be joined by Joanne Peacock who is going to tell us about her role as in Cancer Prehabilitation and also how Walk 5K My Way for Cancer came into being. Please do join us if you are able next month. Our group is open to all those whose life has been affected by breast cancer be it personally or in your role as a carer for someone affected by this. Now we need to hope for a nice sunny and not too windy day - though we will go into Cafe if weather is bad. Looking forward to meeting you all.
